About Me and My Practice
Evidence-based insight
About Me
I’m Clay, a Licensed Associate Addiction Counselor (LAAC). I earned my master’s degree in addictions counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2021 and have spent more than 10 years working in mental health in different capacities.
I care deeply about my clients and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in their lives. Counseling is meaningful work to me, and I continue learning and growing in it every day.
I aim to bring authenticity, honesty, knowledge, curiosity, and compassion to our work together.
About My Practice
For the past two years, I have operated a part-time supervised private practice serving people who struggle with addiction/compulsivity.
I frequently work with licensed professionals and understand the importance of handling personal concerns with discretion, care, and respect for privacy.
My approach centers on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), helping clients build more flexible relationships with thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations while moving toward their values.
I hold an associate license and am completing the standard process of supervised experience required for independent licensure. Jill Fabian provides clinical supervision and consultation for my practice as I continue that process.
